JUST a word to Lady Melissa Percy and Thomas van Straubenzee who tied the knot at her family’s ancestral seat Alnwick Castle attended by a sea King helicopter, 500 guests, Princes Wills and Harry, 12 bridesmaids, tiny tots dressed as elves and nymphs, set off with a monumental firework display.
There’s nothing whatsoever wrong with pushing the boat out for what has been dubbed “the royal wedding of the North” so long as you don’t, even for a second, expect everyday married life to come anywhere near measuring up in the excitement stakes.
